National Institute of Technology Patna is the 18th National Institute of Technology created by the Ministry of H.R.D. Government of India after rechristening the erstwhile Bihar College of Engineering Patna on 28. 01. 2004. NIT Patna marked its humble beginning in 1886 with the establishment of pleaders survey training school which was subsequently promoted of Bihar College of Engineering Patna in 1924. This made this institute the 6th Oldest Engineering Institute of India. The graduate level curriculum was later elevated to the post graduate level in 1978.

BCE (Bhagalpur College of Engineering) Bhagalpur, is a premier Technical Institution of Bihar. It is affiliated to T.M.Bhagalpur University. This institution is situated by the side of Ganges, about 5 Km. from the Silk City, Bhagalpur. The admission to the college is through a Combined Entrance Exam. conducted by the Govt. of Bihar.The intake is of about 100 students in the branches of Civil, Electrical and Mechanical. Since 2001 August there has been addition of two more branches, Computer Science and Electronics and Telecommunication.

Founded in the year 1925 in Patna, with 35 students on the rolls was earlier known as PRINCE OF WALES MEDICAL COLLEGE. It was the sixth and one of the oldest medical colleges in undivided India.
