Department Of Chemical Engineering and Technology

The Department of Chemical Engineering & Technology (DCET) was established in 1958 in collaboration with I.I.T., Chicago in the present building of the University Campus. Professor R. E. Peck from I.I.T. Chicago joined as the first Head of Department. Since its inception in 1958, the department has established itself as a premier Institution engaged in imparting quality technological education and providing support to research and development activities. Research in terms of publications and extramural funding has substantially increased over the years. The department has highly qualified core faculty of high professional profile to meet the emerging trends and challenges in the field of chemical engineering and allied areas on a global platform.The year 2008 is the Golden Jubilee year of the department. As part of Celebrations, the department will be hosting CHEMCON-2008 (61st Annual session of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers), which will include a joint US-India Conference on Energy.
