Engineering Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test, also referred to EAMCET is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University [ JNTU ] on behalf of APSCHE. AP EAMCET serves as the gateway for entry into various Engineering, Medical and related professional courses offered in Government/Private Colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
AP Eamcet Ranking Criteria
As per G.O.Ms.No 165 dated 06-09-2007and G.O.Ms.No 8 (Amendment to the GO.Ms. No 16) Higher Education Department, dated 27-01-2009, the candidates who have secured qualifying marks in EAMCET and candidates belonging to the category of Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe, for whom qualifying marks have not been prescribed, shall be assigned ranking in the order of merit on the basis of combined score obtained by giving 75% weightage to the marks secured in EAMCET and 25% weightage to the marks secured in the relevant group subjects namely Mathematics/Biology, Physics, Chemistry of the qualifying examination.
For the preparation of merit list, in case of more than one student securing the same combined score obtained as mentioned above, the tie shall be resolved to decide the relative ranking by successively considering the following
i) The total marks secured in EAMCET
ii) The Marks secured in mathematics/biology in EAMCET
iii) The marks secured in Physics in EAMCET
iv) The Percentage of Aggregate marks secured in the qualifying examination
V) If the Tie still persists the date of birth of the concerned candidates, the order being given preference over the younger
QUALIFYING MARKS FOR EAMCET – 2009
1. The qualifying percentage of marks in the Entrance Test is 25% i.e. 40 out of a total 160. However, for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, no minimum qualifying mark is prescribed. But their admission will be limited to the extent of seats reserved for such categories (Vide G.O.Ms. No. 179, LEN&TE, dated 16.06.1986).

Further, as per G.O Ms No. 181 dated 21.05.2008 of health medical and family welfare(E1) department for admission into MBBS/BDS courses on the basis of EAMCET entrance examination, a candidate for admission to those courses must have obtained not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology taken together both at qualifying and EAMCET examination. In respect of candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC must have obtained not less than 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together both at qualifying and EAMCET examination.
Eamcet counselling - Retaining of certificates at Registration spot - Whether they will be returned or not, if I cancel the seat
As per the guidelines mentioned in the notification of APEAMCET, "After attending for registration at helpline center of APEAMCET, The submitted certificates will be retained by the officials of HLC." But, If I want to join into any other institution for B.Tech or else, whether my original certificates can be returned to me before I join to any seat through APEAMCET. Please suggust me, as I have an oppurtunity to get seat in fourth iteration of BITS,Pilani as it will be announced on 30th july 2009, What will be going on.
"The counselling procedure and dates for certificate verification will be announced after the EAMCET ranks are declared. Before the student can participate in the online counselling, he has to necessarily get his certificates verified at the helpline centres. Candidates who fail to report for certificate verification will not be considered for the allotment of a seat.
Every candidate has to produce certificates like the hall-ticket, rank card and all original certificates necessary for admissions.
After verification, all the original certificates will be retained and a receipt issued. Students would be informed of the procedure to be followed to exercise options, details of banks and tuition fee after the certificate verification at the helpline centres. - Edu1000"
