Nalbari Law College, NalbariNalbari is famous for Sanskrit Education. Various Sanskrit Schoolar was born in Nalbari. Bireswaracharya who wrote famous book "BrittaManjari", was born in Nalbari. Nalbari is known as Nabadeep of Assam because it has various sanskrit education centre.First Middle School was established in Nalbari in 1887. In 1917 Dy. Commisioner of Kamrup Sri Benting Sahab formally declared it as Nalbari High School. Later on this school was named as "Nalbari Gordon High School" in the Name of Chief Commissioner Gordon. In 1961 it was converted to Higher Secondary School which becomes a Govt HS School in 1967.Shri Baladev Sharma was appointed as first Principal of Gordon HS School.
And gradually different schools and colleges grow on. At present literacy percentage of Nalbari is 55.99% out of that 66.95% for male and 44.19% for female.
