Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology was established in the year 1997 by Vidya Bharati Educational Trust, Gunupur, with the approval of AICTE & Government of Orissa, affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology, with a motto of providing quality engineering education in a highly disciplined environment with international standards, along with character building of students who will be able to stand to the challenges of the present employment market.We are marching fast towards becoming an autonomous college / deemed university and hence we are living no stone unturned. We have got ISO 9000:2001 certification as well as National Board of Accreditation certificate due to our excellence. Now we vowed that we shall be one of the best technological institutions of India and world by completion of our 10th and 15th year respectively. Also, it is a matter of great pride that the top positions in the University have been constantly bagged by the students of GIET. Out of Best Ten GIETians have scored 6 positions during 2001, 2002 and 4 during 2003 final Berhampur University examinations.
