EAMCET 2012 May be held by Osmania University

EAMCET 2012, scheduled to be held in May 2012 may move away from the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University to Osmania University. JNTU has held this exam for the last 13 years. AP State council for higher education ( APSCHE ) is mulling over this and other entrance tests like ECET, ICET, LAWCET etc., and will reveal the decision this week. Universities vie for this coveted role as the sale of applications generates more than 12 crore for the organizing institution.

The decision seems to be going against JNTU due to the recent change in guard at JNTU Hyderabad. Prof Rameshwar Rao, the new vice chancellor of JNTU Hyderabad is known for a dismal performance when he was the convenor of PGECET.

Considering that EAMCET 2012 is the most widely attended and popular exam in the state with more than 300,000 students attending it each year, the state government wants to make sure that EAMCET 2012 is in the right hands. .
