Junior Colleges Admit More Than 50% Students In Class XI


The admissions for Std XI is in full swing. The fourth round of admissions have begun.As per the statistics gathered by the education department more than 50% students have been admitted in Std XI as a whole. This percentage comprises of students from all the three boards - secondary School Certificate (SSC), Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

Current year about 2.75 lakh students passed the class X exam in Mumbai. There are 2.5 lakh junior college admissions are available , excluding the minority quota seats.On the whole the schools have recieved about 2,06,518 applications for the admission into Std XI.Out of which 1,16,290 students were admitted. Around 700 students were rejected.

Second round general merit list was announced on tuesday - 56.43 per cent of SSC students, 57.32 per cent of CBSE students and 52.81 per cent of ICSE students were allotted seats.The remaining students will be accomodated in the third merit list according to education department official.

This year, though the results of IGCSE students are not out, 19 students out of 65 were admitted. The students applied on the basis of predicted scores. The actual results will be announced in august. Online admission process will be completed end of august. With completion of online process admission, the admission process for ATKT (Allowed To Keep Term) will commence from september 1st.
