The most popular courses of this year are MBA, BBA, BCA.The cut-off percentage for these courses are not only high, but the number applications submitted for these courses are also high. Looking at the growing number of applications, the university is considering in increasing the seat capacity for these courses in junior colleges.

The university planning to increase the seat capacity by 5 to 10 percent. Not ot compromise the quality of education , the university also proposes to increase the infrastructure to meet the increased number.

Centralised counselling for Bcom courses in all affiliated colleges were conducted by the Punjab University.For government colleges the counselling was conducted by the Department of Higher Education.As per the statistics gathered by the education officials, the cut-off for Bcom was 102.2 points for GGDSD College, Sector 32, it was 93.6 points for MCMDAV College for Women. Sector 36. For DAV College, Sector 10, it was 93.4 points, whereas for PGGCG, Sector 11, it was 93 points. As many as 9,500 candidates applied for the total 4,340 seats in 26 colleges in Chandigarh, Ludhiana and Hoshiarpur.
