Vacant Seats In City Colleges
Good news at all those students , who have not been allotted any seats yet. As well as students from IGCSE board ,who have not applied yet ,as their results have been announced in August. There about 50,000 vacant seats in the colleges of Mumbai city. These students can apply for these vacant seats ofline. The offline admission commences from september 1 to 4th.
The education department was supposed release a final online list on august 30th. But the department decided not to release the online list , as some students might be allotted seats in colleges faraway from their homes. This would cause inconvenience for the students. Now the students can choose their own colleges as there are plenty of vacancies in various colleges in the city.
Details of vacancies at specific colleges are available online at fyjc.org.in. The same details are put up at the deputy director’s office in Charni Road. The colleges with vacant seats are following the offline admission process as mentioned below - students can buy and submit their application forms with necessary documents offline on the following dates , sept 1,3,4. Colleges will issue the merit list by sept 6th. Students that are allotted seats have to pay their fees on sept 7,8.
Details about the basis of admission is not yet set in stone. Some officials have mentioned that ,it might take place on the basis of cutt-off in the last year's merit list. However certain colleges have decided to throw it open on the basis of the merit of the students who apply.
However students and parents of the students are skeptical about this offline admission process.
